If I could talk to my teenage self, I would say to her. . .

Oh boy – I could give a list of things that I would say to myself. So, that’s what I’ll do.

-Be patient. Not everything is a race.

-Don’t let what people say about you, define you.

-Appreciate everything that your parents do for you.

-Enjoy the time you have with people, while you have it.

-Don’t let a boy talk you into things you aren’t ready for.

-Stand up for yourself. Always.

-It’s okay to say no.

-Save more money.

-When a boy hits you and tells you he’s sorry and he loves you, he is lying.

-Enjoy every second you have that your body isn’t hurting. It won’t always be able to handle the dives and the craziness you put it through.

-You can’t save everyone.

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t a terrible teenager. I made good grades, I played ball, I didn’t get in trouble, BUT if I could go back, I would slap teenage me right in the face. I’ve made so many mistakes that I can’t take back and that I still struggle with today. Live and learn I guess.
