Day 10: Put your music player on shuffle and write the first ten songs that play.

1.    In Between – Beartooth

-I’ve seen them in concert and they are amazing. This song is great because it talks about how easy it is to lose yourself in the in between of life.

Favorite line: “Everybody gets high and everybody gets low. Life can be such overdose.”

2.    Stay – Florida Georgia Line

-This is another good song. It talks about him asking about all the things he could do and if it would be enough to make her want to stay.

Favorite line: “But if I told you I loved you, would it make you wanna stay? I’m sorry for the way I hurt you and making you walk away.”

3.    Let Me Know – Witt Lowry

-Hm. This song. This was an artist that someone introduced me to a year and a half ago. I love Witt because he puts so much emotion in everything. You can feel the pain in all his music.

Favorite line: “You let me beat around the bush until you’re sick of my games. It’s never fair because you care and I just transfer the blame. I transfer my pain, a shame to know that you could do better.”

4.    Lighters – Bad Meets Evil (feat. Bruno Mars)

-Oh man. I haven’t heard this song in a long time. It brings back some funny memories. When my ex-husband and I started dating, I hadn’t really told my parents. (I was living with them at the time) I didn’t want them to know that I was “staying the night”, so I would set my alarm to wake up at like 5 in the morning and drive back. This was my ringtone. We hated to hear that song, because it meant I had to leave.

Favorite line: “This one’s for you and me, living out our dreams. We’re all right where we should be, with arms out wide. I open my eyes and now all I wanna see is a sky full of lighters.”

5.    What Ifs – Kane Brown (feat. Lauren Alaina)

-Ha. This song reminds me of a tattoo that my best friend got a few years ago. I’m not going to lie, I love me some Kane Brown and I love this song. It’s mostly about someone’s insecurities and questions and wondering what happens if it all blows up. On the flip side though, what if it does work? What if it’s meant to be?

Favorite line: “What if I was made for you and you were made for me? What if this is it, what if it’s meant to be?”

6.    Bad Girlfriend – Theory of a Deadman

-Well, this one. Um. Yeah. It reminds me of seeing them for the first time in concert in Asheville. I sang this, probably the entire way. This song is about a wild-ass girlfriend, but at least she goes home with him.

Favorite line: “But does it make her wrong to have the time of her life?”

7.    Balla Baby – Chingy

-Ohh this song makes me think of warming up in basketball. I can’t remember what school we were playing at, but I remember this was the song that they came out to. All of us were trying to fit our names in the lyrics. “K-A-Y-L – to the A!” – Lame, I know.

Favorite line: “I’m a baller, say what? High roller baby baby!”

8.    Let It Rain – David Nail

-This song can hit you right in the feel sometimes. It’s about a guy that decided to cheat – “seven years of good can’t hide the one night I forgot to wear that ring”. He says to just let it rain because she doesn’t love him anymore. He feels so bad that he wants everything to hurt, even more than he deserves.

Favorite line: “It’s too late to turn around when the shades start coming down. The guilt you feel’s the last thing on your mind.”

9.    Sex on Fire – Kings of Leon (I like the Joey Wilton version the best though!)

-Well, I think this song is all about the title. It reminds of one of my friends that has killer vocals. He always sings this song for karaoke and during his shows, because he knows that we all loved it. If you ever get a chance, check out Blaze the City!

Favorite line: “You. Your sex on fire!”

10.    Don’t Leave Her (If You Can’t Let Her Go) – Chris Young

-Oh this is a good one! I love Chris Young. This song can hit me in the feels sometimes. I love that it’s him talking to one of his buddies. The friend is telling him that he and his girl are over. He can’t stand to be on this rollercoaster. They don’t want to make up just to fall apart again. He asks him  though if he could stand to see her dancing with someone else. He asks if he thinks he’ll go crazy every time he sees her car. He goes through all these things and says don’t leave her if you can’t let her go.

Favorite line: “Can you run across her picture and not wonder where she is?”
