I’m not going to lie, I like mainstream music, well some of it. I like it for the beat and most of the time it is really catchy. I don’t particularly like the lyrics of the songs. I don’t think that mainstream music hits you in the feels the way that other music does. I am a person that connects so strongly with music and lyrics. That’s what I use to get through my emotions. Mainstream music is something to have on in the car, when other people are riding with you, because most people know it. 

My favorite thing is to find an artist that not a lot of people know about. They write the deepest, most powerful music. I feel like they do it for them and not for “popularity”. That’s really what most mainstream music is, a popularity contest.
